About Dare to Lead™

Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organizational development professionals. Brené is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation–Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership. She is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead, which also debuted at #1 on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly lists.

The most significant finding from Brené’s recent research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are observable, measurable, and TEACHABLE.

Why Choose Dare to Lead™

You’re ready for brave leaders who are willing to take responsibility for developing the potential in their people.

You're ready to see teams innovate and solve problems with confident creativity as they embrace the hard conversations.

You’re ready for your culture to use feedback as fuel, speak honestly and with vulnerability, so that projects move more efficiently, with less time wasted in fear.

You’re ready to see your leaders foster psychological safety so people can challenge ideas, challenge themselves, and create a high-performing culture through compassion and empathy.

You’re ready to see people truly living your organizational values, and delivering impactfully on your mission.

Every organization can make the change. It starts with brave leaders.

Assessing your culture

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” - Peter Drucker

It doesn’t matter how good your strategy is, it will always fail in the hands of a dysfunctional culture where managers make all the decisions, burnout is rampant, people aren’t engaged, back-channeling and withholding are everywhere, ambiguity persists, people avoid the hard conversations, and there’s an overall resistance to change.

Sound familiar? It’s the inevitable result of command-and-control leadership. It’s what Gen X learned as they made their way into leadership positions… and now it’s time to unlearn it.

From Command-and-Control to Courageous Cultures

It’s time to replace command-and-control with courage and belonging.

Building a trusting, validating culture requires change. And change requires courage (as well as a whole new repertoire of leadership tools).

Cultures of courage and belonging create loyalty, collaboration and extraordinary results. They retain fulfilled people, and empower them to contribute their best. Our Dare to Lead™ program gives your leaders the skills to make the shift to a culture where everybody feels like they belong.

First and foremost, this training is a journey of self-discovery.

Before you can lead others, you need to understand who you are, and what drives your behaviour.

This curriculum supports you as you look inward and get clear on your personal values, your relationship with vulnerability and the behaviours you choose to self-protect.

Once you’ve navigated these waters, you’re ready to learn the practical leadership tools for feedback, trust, and resilience that build successful cultures.

The Dare to Lead™ program equips leaders with everything they need to foster a culture of belonging in any organization.

Your Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator

Inspired Results Group is unparalleled in its delivery of Brené Brown's Dare to Lead™ training. The leaders are deeply knowledgeable, with "ground truth" credibility to back up their teaching. Brené's impactful videos are flanked by well-paced learning sessions, with lots of opportunity to deconstruct concepts with both the facilitators and cohort members. I have already recommended this training to many of my peers.

"I had exposure to most of the content in this course before starting it but wow… the opportunity to carve out time to dive into it with a cohort of like minded people far exceeded my expectations. I was blown away by how quickly I connected with the group and how much value I took from their perspectives, insights, vulnerability, etc. I loved every single moment.
